#Easyfire Update:

A new wildfire that started at 6:15am this morning in the Simi Valley area of Southern California has reportedly burned through more than 1,300 acres so far, threatening 6,500 homes.

The area is home to numerous horse ranches and farms.

Trailers are desperately needed to evacuate horses and other farm animal from the #EASYFIRE.

If you have a horse trailer, Text: (805) 469-0896 with the following info:

1) How many horses you can transport.
2) Picture of your license plate.
3) Picture of your Driver license.
3) Where you’re coming from.

They DO NOT need trucks without trailers.

According to the National Weather Service, winds are expected to gust 40 to 50 mph in the area.

  • East: Madera Street

  • West: Highway 23

Moorpark / Thousand Oaks

  • South: Olsen Road

  • East: Highway 23

  • West: Moorpark Road

Santa Rosa / Thousand Oaks

  • North: Santa Rosa Road

  • East: Moorpark Road

  • West: Andalusia Drive

The Fire Department urged residents to check the county’s website to see exact locations.

Thousand Oaks Community Center located at 2525 N. Moorpark Road is serving as as evacuation center for residents.
